(CS) Former Minister of Family, Integration and Cooperation Marie-Josée Jacobs has been appointed the new president of Luxembourg-based charity Caritas.
Jacobs resigned from her ministerial post earlier this year, ahead of the October elections, at the same time as François Biltgen left his office as Justice Minister.
The 63-year old CSV politician commented that she would like to stand up for other people and is looking forward to the new task. Earlier in December, Jacobs travelled to Kosovo, where she met with local representatives of Caritas.
She succeeds Luxembourg's Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich, who commented that the Caritas Foundation will be in good hands.
Philippe Streff will remain secretary general and director of Caritas Luxembourg.
