Budding young performers at the International School Luxembourg are putting on Peter Shaffer's farce “Black Comedy” for three nights.
Directed by Mike West, the play charts the disastrous ploy of sculptor Brindsley Miller and his fiancée Carol, who borrow expensive furniture from a neighbour without his permission in order to impress an elderly millionaire art collector.
But, a power cut prompts the neighbour to return early, putting a spanner in the works of the young sculptor's career dreams.
Because the play takes place during a power cut, it will be performed in the school's auditorium using reverse lighting. So, when the power cuts, the lights come on and when power returns, the stage is returned to darkness.
“Black Comedy” will be performed from 7.30pm at the Upper School Auditorium on December 12, 13 and 14.
