(ADW) A driver found himself not only the victim of an accident on Sunday afternoon, but also of assault and theft.
Travelling in the outside lane of the A4 motorway on Sunday a motorist was suddenly surprised as a French registered Citroen Xsara swerved out in front of him.
Honking his horn did not appear to help and the car was forced to graze the metal barrier in the central reservation.
Both cars then left the motorway at the Pontpierre exit before stopping. The first driver got out of his car in order to complete an accident report, but the two occupants of the Citroen approached him, before one of them punched him hard, causing the man to fall to the ground.
The second offender then stole the victim's wallet before they both fled by car in the direction of Luxembourg.
If anyone witnessed the incident or is able to supply any clues, they should contact their local police station.
