A 24-hour crackdown on burglars crossing the Luxembourg border resulted in one arrest for theft and the seizure of drugs.
Luxembourg Police and customs officials monitored 484 vehicles and 495 people from 10pm on November 21 until 10pm on November 22.
One person was arrested for theft, 19 tickets were issued for driving offences and one for driving over the legal alcohol limit. In addition, 4.8 grammes of Hashish and 13.7 grammes of marijuana were seized.
The crackdown formed part of a cross-border collaboration with police and customs officials conducting checks along French and Belgian borders.
In total, the collaboration resulted in checks on 898 vehicles and 809 individuals. The campaign was organised as part of efforts to combat burglaries in homes.
