Luxembourg animation films vying for Oscar nomination
Two Luxembourg animation films have been submitted for consideration to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the categories Best Animated Feature and Best Animated Short Film.

(CS/jls) Two Luxembourg animation films have been submitted for consideration to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the categories Best Animated Feature and Best Animated Short Film.
“Ernest & Célestine”, co-produced by Mélusine Productions, is hoping for a nomination in the feature film category alongside 18 other films, including Hollywood studio productions such as Planes, Monsters University, Frozen or Despicable Me 2.
Short film “Mr Hublot” (Zeilt Productions) is one of ten films under consideration for a nomination in the short film category. This list has already been whittled down from 56 films, which qualified in the category.
Between three and five nominees will be selected in this category.
It had been previously announced that Luxembourg crime thriller “Doudege Wénkel” (Samsa Film) has been submitted in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
All nominations will be announced on January 16, with the 2014 Academy Awards scheduled for March 2.
