(CS/DS) Coalition talks between the DP, LSAP and “déi Gréng” continue on Friday, with party representatives set to debate the offer of Chinese investor group HNCA to acquire a minority share in freight airline Cargolux.
Negotiations for the deal had begun under the outgoing CSV-LSAP government, which is unable to reach a decision on the issue, but has warned that the matter is urgent and should not be drawn out.
Earlier this week, a so-called “informateur” was appointed to collect information on the progress and perspectives of the deal, and to facilitate the handover between the outgoing and prospective government.
Only once Robert Schaus's report is completed will a final verdict be reached.
The investment is, however, on the agenda for Friday's coalition talks, which will deal more with the Grand Duchy's finances, including projections how this is expected to develop over the coming months to give better insight into necessary policy adjustments.
Friday's round of coalition talks is expected to end around noon, with “formateur” Xavier Bettel scheduled to hold a press conference giving an update on the progress of negotiations.
