(CS) Government “formateur” Xavier Bettel is set to meet Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker on Thursday, following two days of meeting with representatives from Luxembourg's financial administrations.
Details about the content of the talks have not emerged, but the outgoing PM is expected to give words of advice to Bettel, his likely successor, as well as sharing opinions on the state of the country.
The meeting will follow two days of talks about the Grand Duchy's financial situation, which kicked off official coalition negotiations on Tuesday.
Further meetings are scheduled until November 29, in which the prospective coalition partners will meet representatives from various administrative branches about the state of the nation.
At the same time working groups will begin to discuss the coalition's political programme and reach consensus on programme clashes, such as the index, which the LSAP wants to see fully re-instated, while the DP and “déi Gréng” want more flexible regulations.
If all goes as planned, the new government should resume working in December.
