(CS) Due to major maintenance work on the Bettembourg train line, trains between Luxembourg City and Bettembourg will be suspended in both directions this weekend, with replacement bus services available.
The upgrade work begins November 1, but the route will re-open for traffic on Monday at 4am. A second weekend of closures will start Saturday, November 9, until the following Monday morning.
On both weekends there will be replacement buses leaving from the central train station.
In direction of Bettembourg there will be a direct bus link leaving from platform 16. The bus leaves eight minutes ahead of the regular train schedule to be on time for connecting trains in Bettembourg.
Heading to Berchem, meanwhile, a bus will leave from platform 13 at the Gare bus station, around 18 minutes ahead of the regular train departure time.
There will also be bus services connecting Bettembourg and Berchem with the central train station running more or less according to the normal train schedule. However, it cannot be guaranteed that connecting services are reached there, and passengers are urged to plan extra time for their journey.
Meanwhile, rail traffic to France is not affected by the construction work.
