(ADW) After a slight decline in August, Luxembourg's unemployment rate rose to reach the threshold of seven percent in September this year.
By September 30, 2013, Luxembourg counted 17,059 residents registered with ADEM looking for employment, or 2353 more than a year ago.
According to data seasonally adjusted, this makes an increase of 1.2 percent from the previous month.
Therefore the September rate rose to the seven percent threshold. In August this year the rate was 6.9 percent and 6.2 percent in September 2012.
The number of applicants who received full unemployment benefits in September this year amounted to 7,267 people, an increase of 17.3 % compared to September of last year.
2590 vacancies
However as unemployment figures increased, so did the number of vacancies offered at the ADEM unemployment office.
By the end of September this year 2,590 vacancies were advertised, 205 more that the same time last year.
