Thousands of people have signed up for Luxembourg's most colourful running event – The Color Run, taking place on Saturday.
Altogether, around 2,500 people have registered for the inaugural 5-kilometre fun run at Echternach Lake where they can expect to be showered with powders in rainbow colours.
"We already have 2,500 registered and it is still possible to register all day Friday at Utopolis," said event organiser Erich Francis.
Runners who registered in advance collected their goodie bags on Thursday, containing a sweat band, coloured glasses, T-shirts and runner numbers.
The run begins at 11am on Saturday with 300 joggers released every 10 minutes to ensure they get a good dowsing with colour at the four colour stations.
Although the powder is 100 percent natural, made from corn starch, organisers urge participants with lighter hair to leave conditioner in their hair to ensure the colours wash out. Runners should also wear some eye protection if they are prone to allergic reactions.
The run itself is not timed meaning that the real winners are those who have the most fun on the day.
Following the race, organisers will put on a colourful “finisher festival” with DJ sets and food.
