People who have taken dual Luxembourg nationality because they have Luxembourg ancestry will be able to vote for the first time in the next national elections on October 20.

Altogether, 2,045 foreign nationals have "recovered" Luxembourg nationality since the introduction of the 2008 law allowing naturalisation for anyone who had Luxembourgish ancestors on January 1 1900.
