(CS) The Luxembourg Catholic Church has appointed a new press officer, with the current head of the communication and press service retiring on October 1.
Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich expressed his thanks to outgoing press officer Théo Péporté, and appointed Roger Nilles to the position.
Nilles, born in 1973, studied theology in Trier and Strasbourg before becoming a journalist for the “Luxemburger Wort” in 1997, where he would eventually be editor-in-chief of the culture desk and the supplement “Die Warte”.
He was also in charge of religious affairs at the paper.
In March 2010, Nilles left the “Wort” for the Grand Ducal household, where he became a consultant for social and humanitarian affairs. He was also appointed director of the “Fondation du Grand-Duc et de la Grande-Duchesse”.
