(CS) The Schueberfouer officially kicks off at 5pm on Friday with the traditional mutton parade to the “Hämmelmarsch”, but the fun fair already opens its doors to visitors at noon.
For two and a half weeks, Luxembourg will offer the biggest fun fair in the Greater Region with some two million visitors expected to join the fun.
The opening day on Friday will start with a “nuit blanche” allowing revellers to stay until 2am with a choice of 190 rides, stalls, and food and drinks stands.
Five new rides are part of the set-up this year, including a roller-coaster, a tropic adventure world, a 3D fun house, a rocket ride and a carousel bar.
Traditionally, Luxembourg's politicians also make an appearance on the first day of the Fouer, and can be spotted out and about enjoying the fair.
While there is no official visit scheduled for the Grand Ducal family, especially the younger royals have been seen at the Schueberfouer in past years.
