(CS/vb) Former Luxembourg Prime Minister Jacques Santer has been honoured by Austrian village Faistenau for going on holiday there for the past 30 years.
The 76-year-old received a thank you gift on Friday, brass band performance included.
Santer, who was the President of the European Commission from 1995 to 1999, is known to spend much of his annual holiday in the village near Salzburg, staying at the “Hotel zur Post” both in the summer and winter.
The Wikipedia page of the popular tourist destination lists Santer as a notable holidaymaker.
