(CS/na) Esch/Alzette's council of aldermen has voiced its opposition to the construction of an asphalt plant in the industrial zone “Um Monkeler”, following protest by the nearby towns of Modercange and Schifflange.
The city of Esch criticised that the planned plant's technology, more particularly the filtre system, is not state of the art. Additionally, a wall around the crusher, where rocks are broken up into smaller pieces, was deemed not high enough. The council also wants the construction of two natural ramparts with conifers to limit noise and visual pollution.
