(MSS) Employment gaps may promote and reduce cognitive function in older age, a new research shows from the University of Luxembourg.
The information is based on work histories and responses to the "Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe". The study was carried out in 13 countries and found strong evidence suggesting, that leaving your job temporarily, for example in connection to job training or maternity/paternity leave, may benefit your brain and increase your cognitive reserve, as well as slow your cognitive decline as you get older.
