All Belgian trains will be allowed to access the Luxembourg rail tracks by the end of the summer, bringing an end to frustrating upheavals for commuters.
Currently, passengers are forced to change trains in Arlon when travelling to Luxembourg because Belgian trains of the model AM96 are not permitted on the country's tracks.
After meeting with his Belgian counterpart, Jean-Pascal Labille, Luxembourg Infrastructure Minister Claude Wiseler says that the matter will be resolved within two to six weeks and no later than the end of August. The changes are expected to affect trains destined to Luxembourg, travelling from Brussels via Namur and Arlon.
