(CS) The City of Luxembourg is not giving up on the Royal Hamilius project and is planning on filing an appeal against a recent decision which halted the plans.
A judge had ruled that it was unclear in the plans whether ten percent of the entire site would be turned into green space, a criterion defined in the development plan.
This decision created further delays for the project. Demolition of the current Hamilius buildings was set to begin earlier this year, and was initially pushed back until the beginning of the 2013/14 school year.
At a City Breakfast event on Wednesday, Luxembourg City mayor Xavier Bettel said that the plans did meet the requirements, and that an appeal would be filed. However, the City expects that the project will be delayed by several months, though it remains unclear when demolition can begin.
Residents of number 49 Boulevard Royal had pushed for the project to be stopped.
