(RM) The “Lëtzebuerger Vëlos-Initiativ” is launching the third edition of a cycling map, offering cyclists detailed information on the country's infrastructure of cycle lanes and paths.
The new edition is designed to offer cyclists guidance, highlighting major developments in infrastructure and providing tips for a more enjoyable cycling experience.
This year, the map will show cyclists which routes lead to well-established cycle paths, country lanes or main roads.
Guidance for Luxembourg's cyclists
The map indicates the exact distances of all existing cycling lanes and paths that cyclists can choose from in the Grand Duchy.
The map is set to feature and highlight cycle paths that were developed on former railway tracks with a relatively flat topography, which gives cyclists a fairly plain surface to ride on.
Readers will be also be able to identify each of the country's current cycling lanes by its official number.
Travel arrangements and tips
Cyclists can learn more about combined travel arrangements by train and bike to a number of locations, while ''bed and bike'' accommodation in the vicinity of any cycling network is also listed on the map.
The updated map costs 5 euros, provides information in English, French and German and is available to buy in book shops across the Grand Duchy.
Alternatively, you can order the map by bank transfer to the Lëtzebuerger Vëlos-Initiativ, paying six euros (the map plus shipping costs in Luxembourg), or seven euros (the map and shipping costs elsewhere in Europe) to CCPLLULL LU40 1111 0825 6417 0000, with the mention ''Luxembourg by cycle''.
The ''Luxembourg by bike'' map was produced with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, the Administration of Cadastre and Topography, Ville de Luxembourg, and the Administration of Road and Bridges.
