Luxembourg residents have better things to do than watch TV all day, a report on global TV viewing habits suggests.
The country recorded among the lowest average time spent in front of the box, according to the 2012 International Television Key Facts report by IP Network.
Altogether, TV viewers in Luxembourg spent on average more than 2.5 hours watching television (151 minutes) per day.
These low figures place the Grand Duchy just one place away from the country with the lowest telly time, Switzerland, with an average daily viewing time of 137 minutes.
The report compared figures from 35 European countries as well as Japan and the US. It shows that habits are changing and that viewers are using different means to watch favourite films or programmes, such as via the internet.
Among the countries recording the most time spent watching TV were Serbia (308 minutes), the US (290 minutes), Macedonia (288), Hungary (286), Greece (268) and Croatia (267).
