Motorists are warned to expect delays around Luxembourg City and on the German motorway this weekend.
As of 8pm this evening, the A1 motorway leading to Trier will be blocked from Munsbach to Potaschberg for resurfacing. Works along the 10km stretch of road will continue until 6m on Monday in time for the first commuters travelling to work.
Traffic will be diverted via Niederanven and Roodt-Syr. The same section of road will be closed again from July 1 to 4 for further roadworks.
The section of the Route de Thionville next to the bridge Jean-Pierre Buchler, which crosses the railway line, will be partly closed on Saturday and completely closed on Sunday from 6am to 6pm.
The pavement and pedestrian paths will remain open during the works.
The changes are expected to affect a number of bus routes.
During Saturday buses for lines 5,6 and 15 will be redirected to Bonnevoie via rue Origer and rue de Bonnevoie. The Gare Centrale and Dernier Sol bus stops will not be served.
On Sunday between Place de Paris and Bonnevoie lines 5,6 and 15 will be redirected in both directions via rue Origer and rue de Bonnevoie.
As with Saturday the Gare Centrale and Dernier Sol bus stops will not be served.
