Fête de la Musique reached a climax in the capital on Tuesday cleverly overlapping with the start of the “Summer in the City” programme and, of course, National Day.
Luxembourgish music was present across City. The stage on Place des Bains played host to Heartbeat Parade, Jacob Conspiracy and Mutiny on the Bounty amongst others with the Holy Ghost stage near Place Saint Esprit alive with the likes of Birdbones and Inborn!
However, the largest crowds were drawn to Place Guillaume II where the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg not only performed a host of popular orchestral pieces, but also teamed up with local band Eternal Tango, who performed hits “Golden City” and “Oh! No”. The OPL, under the baton of Gast Waltzing, also performed with Serge Tonnar and, arguably the best match-up, Luxembourg rappers de Läb.
