(JB) Two Spanish tourists were injured when a car veered into them while they were out walking.
Of the victims, a woman is in a critical condition and a man received less serious injuries.
The incident occurred around 6.40am at Place de Metz in Luxembourg City. According to witness reports, a black Audi was seen driving across Pont Adolphe towards the gare.
It turned right onto Boulevard de la Pétrusse where the two pedestrians were crossing the road.
After colliding with the tourists, the car skidded across both lanes, crashed through a fence and stopped in a flowerbed in the Place de Metz.
Police breathalyser tests showed that the driver of the Audi was over the legal alcohol limit.
The driver's licence was revoked. Witnesses to the incident are urged to contact the police on 4997 4500 or by calling the emergency number 113.
