(ADW) A reckless Luxembourg driver caused a head-on collision at speed late Saturday night just over the border in Germany.
The driver travelling on the B51 attempted to make a right turn onto the A60 motorway but his excessive speed caused him to swing out into the opposite lane and into the path of an approaching car resulting in a violent head-on collision.
The result of the crash was complete wreckage for both cars, prompting the fire brigade to be sent to the scene to cut out the trapped drivers.
Luckily both drivers were only slightly injured, but were both sent to hospital for observation.
The B51 and entrance to the A60, remained closed for some time while an investigation and clean-up operation took place.
