(JB) Up to 2,000 Neo-Nazis ruined descended on a community hall in the Moselle region which they had reserved for a “wedding anniversary”.
According to Belgian news website L'Avenir, residents in Rohrbach-lès-Bitche were alerted when scores of cars pulled up to the community hall's car park at around 8pm on Saturday night.
According to witnesses in the small village near Sarreguemines, it was clear that those who stepped out of the vehicles were not dressed for a wedding anniversary.
Local councillor Olivier Joder contacted the police who were apparently aware that a neo-Nazi rally was to take place at an unknown location in the area.
It is thought that between 1,500 and 2,000 neo-Nazis from France, Germany and Belgium gathered at the site. Although the police were alerted, they did not intervene and let the gathering continue, provided it ended at 1am.
According to the local councillor, the unwelcome visitors were, at least, clean and cleared up after themselves.
