Hundreds of people are expected to take to the streets this Thursday evening in protest against the closure of maternity services in Wiltz.
The demonstration is being organised by the northern division of national union LCGB on behalf of members who oppose a bid to centralise maternity wards in Ettelbruck.
The action follows the presentation of a petition to the Chambre des Deputés.
Under current plans, the Wiltz hospital is expected to undergo a 25 million euro facelift, which will result in a number of services being cut.
Among them are the maternity facilities, which will move to Ettelbruck as of July 31.
The march will take place at 6pm from the Monument National de la Grève in rue du 31 aoùt.
