(ADW) This Saturday, the neighbourhoods of Grund and Clausen will once again be the setting for the “Blues'n Jazz Rallye” this year in fact being the 17th edition.
On the programme this year: 50 concerts, 14 stages, 17 bars and cafés, plus a brand new circuit.
The old quarters of Luxembourg City will become the setting for the outdoor festival dedicated to blues and jazz and the best known festival of it's kind in the Greater Region, which every year attracts more than 25,000 music fans.
7pm start
From 7pm on Saturday, acts will take to the stages. The line-up for this edition is not likely to disappoint with a host of acts this year from around the world, including Luxembourg, the United States, Canada, Macedonia and Kosovo.
Rally ends at 1am but the bars stay open until 3am
Although concerts will end around 1 am on the street stages, the night will continue in the bars and cafés of Clausen until 3am.
This year, due to major roadworks in Clausen, the route from stage to stage will be slightly different, bypassing Rue de la Tour Jacob and Rue de Treves, in order to get to a new stage on rue Sosthène Weis.
A specially designed bridge will take people to the Abbaye of Neumünster over the Alzette river where, apart from music, an exhibition from Luxembourg photographer Ralph Thein will display pictures of great blues and jazz artists that have passed through Luxembourg. This exhibition will run until 28th July.
As many roads will be closed to traffic from 6pm it is advised to either leave your car at home or use the various car parks dotted around the City with regular free shuttle buses to Clausen, namely the Glacis car park or Bouillon P+R.
