(JB) Strassen's new police station was given an official welcome on Friday when home affairs minister attended its inauguration ceremony.
The small station at 120A route d'Arlon boasts five officers, offering a permanent police presence in the commune.
Members of the public will be able to speak to an officer Monday to Friday from 8am until 10am and from 4pm until 6pm.
At the same time, patrols will operate in the area during the week from 8am to 6pm by officers in a bid to bring the police into closer contact with the public.
Station staff will be expected to deal with complaints and assign specialist officers, to deal with administrative affairs, to operate vehicle and motorist checks and to inform residents.
For minor issues, the station can be reached during opening hours on 244 35 – 200. If calling out of office hours or in an emergency, dial 113.
