(ADW) Two people were killed, one seriously injured and six people slightly injured in an horrific accident that occurred on the A6 motorway in the early hours of Sunday morning.
In heavy rain, a Belgian registered car with 4 occupants including 2 children between the Bertrange and Strassen, skidded across the A6 motorway and smashed into the barriers, coming to rest in the right lane.
A short time afterwards, a French registered car with 5 occupants while overtaking lost control and collided with the Belgian vehicle. Two adults in the first car (a man and a woman yet to be identified) were killed in the collision and one of the children seriously injured. In the French car, 1 person was seriously injured and 4 slightly injured.
The Luxembourg fire department and 5 ambulances rushed to the scene, treating the injured on the spot before taking them to hospital. It was ascertained that drink-driving did not play a part in the accident.
