Serious accident between Garnich and Hivingen

(ADW) A serious accident occurred just after 4pm on Thursday on the road between Garnich and Hivingen when a smashed with full force into a tree.

After overtaking another car, the driver, while negotiating a long right bend lost control of his car, skidded and spun around its own axis. The car spun completely off the road and collided full force against a tree on the passenger side.

When emergency services arrived, including a rescue helicopter, the driver was trapped in the car and unresponsive. However he was later freed but his condition was described as critical and was rushed to hospital.

The road is between Garnich and Hivingen in the south of the country was blocked for some time
