Luxembourg unemployement: 5.6% in June
In June, the number of unemployed living in Luxembourg and registered with the employment office(ADEM) was 13,718, a rate of 5.6%.
(ADW) In June, the number of unemployed living in Luxembourg and registered with the employment office(ADEM) was 13,718, a rate of 5.6%. If the number of people that take advantage employment measures such as placement and training are also taken into consideration, the total rises to 18,090 job seekers.
Of these, 6,416 applicants receive full unemployment benefit, a slight decrease of 0.4% over last year.
ADEM job offers up 84.4%
The number of vacancies registered with ADEM was 3133 in June 2011, an increase of 84.4% compared the same month last year.
These figures were released by the Economic Committee, having met on Friday morning chaired by Economy Minister, Jeannot Krecké, and Labour and Employment Minister Nicolas Schmit.
