If you are staying in Luxembourg this weekend, why not pay a visit to the Braderie in Dudelange taking place both on Saturday and Sunday.

(ADW) This weekend may see a mass exodus from the country as people leave on holiday, but if you are staying, there's still lots to do. For example if you are a braderie, or street market fan, this weekend its the turn of Dudelange to set up its stalls in the town centre.
On Saturday the braderie is open from 8am to 7pm and on Sunday 10am to 6pm.
It should be well worth a visit as Dudelange braderie is one of the most frequented markets in the country and you are bound to pick up a bargain. Then why not sit down and enjoy the obligatory Mettwurst or Thuringer (or Luxringer as its now called) hotdog and Bofferding, that no event in Luxembourg would be complete without.
What does “braderie” actually mean?
There are two separate explanations for the origin of the word 'braderie', some say it comes from the Flemish word 'braaden' which means 'to roast' since many of the merchants used to roast meat and herrings to give to the shoppers. The other etymology suggestion is the Spanish 'barato' which means 'cheap'.
