(AW) The streets of the Luxembourg City were alive with colourful and lively entertainment on Saturday and Sunday in this year’s street festival “Streeta(rt)nimation” when the capital’s pedestrian streets become one big open-air stage. The fun stretched over both days from midday until the late evening.
Jugglers, puppeteers, circus performers, stilt walkers, storytellers, mimes, and an array of fantasy animal costumes paraded the streets. Spectators were whisked away into fantasy worlds by the walking acts, street theatre, puppet theatre and dance.
This year’s totally free festival played host to 133 different acts.
Streeta(rt)nimation began life 16 years ago when Luxembourg first became “European Capital of Culture”.
Since then it has become an integral part of the capital’s “Summer in the City” programme attracting thousands of visitors each year.
This year for the first time this year, Streeta(rt)nimation took place over two days.
