A bomb has exploded in a Berlin park, leaving one man severely injured.
A bomb has exploded in a Berlin park, leaving one man severely injured.
Police spokeswoman Heidi Vogt said on Monday that a man walking his dog in a park on Sunday saw a plastic bag next to a park bench and when he lifted it up a bomb inside exploded. The man was severely injured and taken to the hospital.
Police did not want to reveal any further details about the victim or the kind of explosives used in the bomb because of the ongoing investigation.
However, Vogt said, a similar bag with a bomb was found in a nearby location in the same neighborhood, Berlin's Wedding district, in May.
