(CH) What an eventful weekend it was! For those of you sun worshippers who fled rainy Luxembourg in search for some summer feeling, from music-fuelled parties to a wine extravaganza, read on to find out what you missed!
E-Lake
Last weekend, the Echternach lake was fully dedicated to music. Thousands of people enjoyed the diversified program of the “e-Lake Festival” including rock bands, electronic music and a “Sunset Party”. And all of this was for free!
In the end, the numerous musical acts left no wishes unfulfilled. On Friday, Bird Bones started off really well, mesmerising the crowd with the voice of lead singer Deborah Lehnen. Headliners of the first festival day popular German band “Juli” performed a great show, captivating in no time their audience with top hits such as “Die perfekte Welle” and “Elektrisches Gefühl”.
Other brilliant performances on the main stage from Austrian crossover band “Kontrust”, “Bandgeek Mafia” or “Versus You” offered a great start into the weekend. At the same time, the second stage proved not to be any less popular with luxembourgish artists and bands such as DJ Tollek, De Läb and Cluster 5 enjoying the support of a huge audience.

Electronic music
Saturday was all about electronic music; starting in the early afternoon, DJ's such as “Dirty Kid”, “Slam”, “Fritz&Kinch”, Kenny Loco or Maxwell George knew perfectly how to inspire their audience and get people dancing. Starting around 1am, the main act of the evening was a full success! Techno-DJ and music producer Mauro Picotto has been considered one of the most famous composers in the world ever since he landed a top hit in 2000 with the song “Komodo”. A reputation he justified, seducing the crowd with his electronic sounds.
On Sunday, the festival wrapped up with DJ Raymond's “Sunday Summer Night Party”, savouring the end of a dazzling weekend without major incidents. Therefore, special thanks to those who volunteered for the management of emergencies, as well as the police and not at last the "Club des jeunes Echternach“, which has organised the free annual festival since 1996.

Picadilly: almost 13,000 bottles drunk
However, not only the e-Lake but also the Picadilly in Stadtbredimus enjoyed great popularity last weekend and attracted many people to the Luxembourg Moselle! Although slightly fewer people visited than usual, up to 18.000 visitors ensured a good and celebratory mood during the well-known Wine and Grape Harvest Festival -a situation not at least affected through the sweet alcopop drink “Picadilly”, a dreadful mix of wine and cassis! The exact recipe is secret and successful as Michel Marx, treasurer of the tourist office in Stadtbredimus claims “there remains not much of the approximatively 13.000 bottles of picadilly that were provided for the event”.
On Sunday, the police as well concluded their work with a positive verdict; except for some minor squabbles among the visitors there had been no major incidents, not even in terms of “drunk driving”.
