(JB) Road traffic Police faced a busy night on Friday when they revoked seven driving licences for drink driving and speeding.
The patrol's first check came at around midnight where a motorist was caught driving at 153 km/hour instead of 90 kn/hour on the road between Gonderange and Waldhof.
From then onwards, policy stopped a number of motorists for driving eratically and subsequently confiscated six licences when breathalyser tests proved positive.
At 1.30am officers stopped a car that was being driven eratically on the N7 in Diekirch. A test proved that the driver was over the legal alcohol limit to drive.
This theme continued with another drink driving case stopped in Differdange where a scooter driver came off his vehicle on a roundabout at about 3.30am.
At 4.20am, an accident involving a motorist over the legal alcohol limit and a traffic island was reported in Mondercange's rue de Limpach. Half an hour later a motorist slammed into a tree between Mersch and Saeul. They were not injured but were found to have been drink driving.
Two further drink driving incidents were spotted in Warken at 5.30am and in Luxembourg City's Boulevard Prince Henri at around 6am. In all cases, police revoked the driving licences of the motorists.
