(JB) One cyclist died and three motorcyclists were injured in a weekend which saw four accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles.
A 60-year-old cyclist died when he fell off his bike on the Roost/Bissen road on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, the victim's bike collided with the pavement and he was thrown to the ground where he suffered serious head injuries. The cyclist died at the scene.
A motorcyclist escaped fatality earlier on Sunday when he collided with the wreckage of a collision which took place moments earlier.
The motorist was travelling along the A13 before the Aessen tunnel at around noon. Seconds earlier a car had skidded, hitting the barrier at full force and sending car parts across the road. The following motorcyclist was not able to brake in time and fell. Both drivers received minor injuries.
Half an hour beforehand a motorcyclist slid to the ground while making a left turn in Lorentzweiler. He injured his foot and was taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, the night before a motorcyclist was knocked from his bike by a car on the Avenue John F Kennedy in Kirchberg at around 9.45am. He fell onto the pavement and was taken to hospital for leg injuries.
