(JB) It's the moment spotters have been waiting for- Cargolux should take delivery of its first superjet on September 8.
The date remains speculative but, spells good news for the air freight firm, which has already experienced severe delays.
When the plane lands at Findel airport, Cargolux will be the first in the world to take delivery of the new Boeing 747-8F.
It is expected to receive its second aircraft from Boeing later in the month. Cathay Pacific Cargo is also expected to take delivery of two of the 10 jets it has on order.
Delivery of the Boeing 747-8F has been severely delayed since Cargolux places its order. Originally scheduled to be rolled out at the end of 2009, the date was pushed back because of a series of issues with the plane.
The first Boeing 747-8F is expected to leave the US on September 7, following a customer acceptance flight around September 2.
A Cargolux spokesperson highlighted that it was still speculative as to whether the plane would be delivered on September 8, however.
