(JB) A tunnel being used as part of a hydro-electric powerstation experienced two explosions on Saturday.
No-one was injured during the explosions at the Société Electrique de l'Our tunnel, which were thought to have been caused by exploration work.
Work had recently begun at the site on the Vianden-Stolzenburg to install a new turbine to generate electricity to power local households.
Following the explosions at around 1pm on Saturday, huge plumes of strong-smelling smoke were reported to be pouring from the entrance.
Firefighters were at the scene to extinguish any fires and aerate the the tunnel.
