(ADW) After a spectacular car chase with police, a motorist smashed into a forklift truck injuring three people.
It was late Tuesday afternoon on the main road in Calmus when the incident occurred, following an attempted escape from police at a junction in Redange.
With screeching tyres and excessive speeds of up to 180km per hour, according to police, the car raced towards Calmus pursued by police, before the chase came to an abrupt and dramatic end. The driver lost control and crashed into a forklift injuring the driver and two passengers.
After examination, police reported that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to either call the Redange police station on 2449 2200 or Mersch on 4997 9500.
