Netrock! “Live from your browser”
Are you in a local young band and think your talent should be heard by more people, lots more people in fact?

Are you in a local young band and think your talent should be heard by more people, lots more people in fact?
A competition with a difference takes place for the second year running from September 19 to 21 where local bands play to a totally empty Rockhal! Sounds strange you might think, but the acts will actually perform in front of cameras and their show will be streamed live over the internet.
This is the concept of Netrock, an initiative from the Rockhal and Diekirch aiming to support the Luxembourg music scene by offering young bands a stage and professional environment to perform and bring their music to a broader, potentially huge audience.
Netrock, “Live from your browser”, as it states on the website, will be streamed live via the website www.netrock.lu . 30 bands from Luxembourg and the Greater Region will play for three days during the online festival from September 19 until September 21. All musical styles are allowed. The only obligations being that participants need to be at least 16 years old and able to play a 15-minute set.
During the festival, visitors to Netrock.lu can interact with the bands and each other via a specially developed interface, and most importantly vote for their favourite bands.
And there are great prizes too! Two awards will be presented after the three days: an audience prize and professional jury prize.
The audience prize winner will be recorded for a Netrock Best Of CD to be distributed in supermarkets and the band will embark across the country on a “Diekirch Bar Tour”, playing in bars throughout Luxembourg.
The jury prize will be a recording of a four-track EP in the professional studio at the Rockhal, providing a great opportunity for bands starting out.

The event last year was a great success with the band Encypher winning the audience prize and Medley Jukebox the jury prize.
Are you interested? If so you only have until September 5 to sign up. For the rest of us, we have the September 19 - 21 to look forward to when we can watch the festival from home live on the web and vote for our favourite local bands.
