(JB) A number of guided bike rides will be open to the public to raise awareness about cycle safety in Luxembourg City.
On September 17, keen cycling fans and beginners alike will be able to tag along with 3.7 km tour of the city, exploring its infrastructure and rules.
The tour, which forms part of European Mobility week, is offered in three different languages: Luxembourgish, French and German and lasts for an hour.
Participants will learn about useful Highway Code rules and safety features such as left-hand turns and use of cycle paths.
Organised in partnership with the "Lëtzebuerger Vëlos-Initiativ", the tours are aimed at strengthening safety in the city and encouraging more people to opt for two wheels over four.
Tours depart from the Schuman roundabout. A tour in Luxembourgish begins at 9am, in French at 10.15am and in German at 11.30am.
People wishing to take part are urged to book in advance as numbers are limited. To register, call 4796 4136. Bikes will be available for hire for the event from Luxembourg City.
