Britain's newest Ambassador to Luxembourg is to meet the country's Grand Duke Henri this afternoon who will officially welcome her to job.
Alice Walpole came to Luxembourg for the posting at the end of July this year. Her role cannot begin until she has formal accreditation, which is expected to be bestowed later today.
Despite being in the country for just over a month, the mother of six has already made a strong impression on the British ex-pat community by accepting the role of patron to the Telstar International Scouting Group.
The new appointee was announced in March this year. At the time she was working as HM Consul-General and Head of Post in Basra, Iraq. She previously held a succession of diplomatic posts at home and abroad, and has focused in particular on conflict resolution and multilateral diplomacy.
Ms Walpole succeeds Peter Bateman, who left in April this year when he was appointed as Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Azerbaijan.
