(JB) Luxembourg's leader may be suffering in the popularity ratings outside of the Grand Duchy but he remains a firm favourite on his home territory.
According to popularity survey Politmonitor by TNS-ILRES, commissioned by the Luxemburger Wort, Jean-Claude Juncker is the friendliest politician in the country.
He was followed by Jean Asselborn, Claude Wiseler, Luc Frieden and Nicolas Schmit, who were ranked in order of popularity by the Luxembourg public.
Since the last survey conducted in May this year, it appears that Jean-Claude Juncker, Luc Frieden and Jean Asselborn have grown in popularity.
Immigration minister Nicolas Schmit, however, appears to be losing ground. The minister saw a 21% decline in public support in the space of a year, a trend which is thought to be linked to a police incident involving his son in which Mr Schmit was accused of trying to abuse his position.
In terms of political ability, Mr Schmit's ratings dropped 2%, as did those of culture minister Octavie Modert, in which only 36% respondents expressed confidence.
