(JB) A spate of strange burglaries has broken out across the country after grapes, plums and green beans were stolen.
Hungry thieves first targeted allotments in Mondorf-les-Bains where they stole a lawnmower, garden tools and helped themselves to the crop of plums and beans.
The incident reportedly took place overnight from September 15 to 16 at the allotments close to a nursing home.
In a similar incident, police discovered a crop of suspected stolen grapes when they stopped a vehicle in Scheuerberg, close to Remich.
The vehicle was pulled over in the village at around 11.30pm on September 19. Inside, police found nine bin bags and three buckets stuffed with grapes.
The driver and passenger claimed they were using the harvest to make wine. Police are investigating.
