(JB) Bungling carjackers fled an attempted robbery empty-handed when their victim fought back.
A group of four would-be robbers followed a man for several kilometres to his drive in rue Gaaschtbierg, Mamer, at 10.30pm on Sunday night.
There, one occupant climbed out of a Dutch registered VW Golf and pointed a loaded gun at the man, asking him in French to hand over the keys to his vehicle.
According to police, the victim attempted to flee. When he was tackled by the gunman he fought back, suffering injuries to the head and leg at the same time.
For unknown reasons, the attacker fled the garage with three others by car towards Route d'Arlon.
The gunman was described as 1.7 metres tall, Eastern European with short black hair and aged about 30.
A passenger in the car was described as aged in his late 20s and was thought to be Eastern European.
