(JB) A man has accused police of racial abuse and discrimination after he claimed he was struck during an arrest.
According to Luxembourg radio station RTL, Dorley Tumba lodged a complaint with the Luxembourg police after he was stopped in a new car.
Mr Tumba claims that he was taking his car to be registered in Luxembourg and agreed to go with the police to prove his ownership.
Despite this, he says that police put handcuffs on him. When he resisted, he claims that police struck him and returned with a racial insult.
RTL said that a doctor later confirmed that Mr Tumba had suffered a concussion. An official complaint has been lodged against the police officer.
It is not the first time that members of the Luxembourg police force have been investigated for racial abuse. Last year, an investigation was launched when a xenophobic email being circulated among police members was intercepted.
