(JB) Round off the weekend with a cracking day out by visiting Vianden's annual walnut festival this Sunday.
The event regularly attracts thousands of people to the picturesque, northern town. Visitors come to buy fresh walnuts, nut bread and cakes and enjoy a tipple of the walnut licqueur while getting into the party spirit.
Motorists are warned that the entire town centre will be closed to traffic on the day. Nevertheless, parking will be available on the route de Diekirch (the hill overlooking the town).
Shuttle buses will convey visitors at regular intervals from here to the action.
Alternatively, visitors can walk to the centre.
There will be plenty of shopping opportunities as well the chance to let your hair down with music stages and plenty of bars located around the town.
The day-long event runs on October 2, from 10am until 7pm.
