(ADW) According to a media report, the director of the association Proactive, Romain Schmit was suspended from duty Friday for contradicting the President, Robert Weber. The Director confirmed that some of the association's accounts were artificially inflated to increase subsidies.
It was the Tageblatt newspaper that made the announcement citing a "reliable source". Weber, however, had said a day earlier that “nothing went wrong” in the association's accounting
Robert Weber when contacted by wort.lu did not confirm the the suspension
It was revealed in the middle of last week that, after a Belgian financial consulting report, ProActif had artificially inflated accounts between 2005-2010 resulting in nearly € 2.9 million too much in state subsidies than they should have received.
On Friday Labour Minister Nicolas Schmit expressed his opinion and explained that he saw no reason to doubt the report's conclusions. The audit is objective and neutral, he told the press.
