(JB) Persistent burglars raided four properties near route d'Arlon during the early hours of Tuesday.
Police have suggested that each of the four break-ins may have been carried out by the same perpetrator because of their close proximity to the route d'Arlon.
One of the break-ins was in rue Arquebusier where the would-be thieves climbed through a roof hatch to be confronted by an iron grill. Not to be deterred, they then forced their way through a window in the courtyard only to leave the property empty-handed.
During the same night, thieves broke into a nearby office container and stole the coins from a vending machine.
It appears that during their rampage they also called in at the Belair-Kayser primary school in rue Aloyse Kayser where they found their way in through a toilet window and stole a number of items.
The last incident, which is thought to have occurred some time between 1am and 3am saw a break-in at a gardening store in route d'Arlon where thieves stole a GPS device and some tools.
